Chinese New Year with Chef Nicole

Tonight was devoted to the Chinese New Year, and folks were put to work on the meat dumplings.

Chia Chen assisted again with tonight's class. Thanks!

Here is the before, and weren't they loaded with flavor! Our assistants were great wrappers!

Spring rolls were made with pork and shrimp.

Everyone enjoying their meal.

What a beautiful presentation of the Eight Treasure Rice Pudding.

Can you see the fish swimming with the shrimp? Very clever!

Onto the finale. Chef Nicole did a great job of providing traditional fare for the Chinese New Year which is a wonderful celebration with excuisite foods. Thanks to all that made it out this night and to our chefs! We'll see you in April to do it again.

Flavor Exploration by Chef Aaron from CD's Cafe

Chef Aaron from the Dry Dock joined us tonight for an "exploration" of different flavors and combinations to enjoy.

The first was a beautiful combination salad with pear walnut vinaigrette and bleu cheese.

The broccolini is getting "wilted" for the scallop dish.

A little bit of assistance with the bacon phylo triangles.

Whoops, dessert is done in the middle! No ones parents were here, so dessert was consumer in the middle of class. What a great concept! There should be more of this.

OK, now we'll go back to the meal! Scallops served with orzo and spinach, this was a burst of nice flavors!

What a great class and very representative of what you can find on a daily basis at CDs Cafe. Chef Aaron, thanks again for another great class!

Valentine's Day with Chef Manda from Blue Heron Inn

What an enjoyable evening for Valentine's Day! We had a heart-warming meal and amore was in the air. Now where are their spouses?

Chef Amanda from Blue Heron starts off explaining tonight's menu.

Grapefruit to accompany the Tuna with a Buerre Blanc sauce.

Individual Beef Wellington's, ready for the oven.

Tuna searing in the pan.

Look at that presentation....and the flavors were even better.

Sharing a moment between courses....

The main course was the Beef Wellington, Fingerling potatoes and asparagus.

And the finale was Poached Pears with a homemade chocolate raspberry sauce! Yummmmm.

This was such a nice evening for everyone. Chef Manda did a wonderful job of entertaining and serving a beautiful meal, once again!
